The Seas with Nemo & Friends opened for the public on January 15, 1986. It took 22 months to construct the aquarium. This public aquarium was previously known as The Living Seas. Until the year 2001, this site was sponsored by United Technologies. It was designed by Walt Disney Imagineering. The Seas with Nemo & Friends is one of the largest man made underwater environment. You are bound to marvel at its extraordinary engineering. The aquarium has the capacity to hold 2,200 guests per hour.
Activities at The Seas with Nemo & Friends:
The Seas with Nemo & Friends covers an area of 185000 sq ft. The building is prepared in such a way that it take visitors under the ocean to 'Sea Base Alpha'. After that they can take an exciting ride to the ocean floor by a 'Hydrolator'. After completing the ride, the guests can go for a Coral Reef Ride. The visitors are allowed to use a 'sea cab' for this ride. You will move along an underwater tunnel through the aquarium. The Coral reef ride is not only entertaining but it is also informative. You will get to know a lot of information about the aquatic life.
After completing this entertaining and informative ride, you can also go for another adventurous ride that takes you to the 'Sea Base Alpha'. There you will be able to view the marine life closely. The guests would then land into the main display area where they could interact with various multimedia exhibits. You can also watch a short film on aquatic life at The Seas with Nemo & Friends.
Entertainment at The Seas with Nemo & Friends:
From the year 2003, it started to bring elements of the film, Finding Nemo. To entertain the guests this aquarium has arranged for a talk show named 'Turtle Talk with Crush'. The character Crush of the film interacts with the audience by CGI system and talks about the aquatic life.

In the year 2005, the Living Seas pavilion was closed down for expansion. It reopened on October 2006 and was renamed into The Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion. It became a part of Disney's Year of a Million Dreams celebration.
You can also broad the 'Clamobiles' to join Dory, Marlin, and the other characters of the film as they search for Nemo. You get to travel with these memorable characters and at last find them to reunite with Nemo. After that the 'Clamobiles' returns to the surface.
To satisfy your taste buds, The Seas with Nemo & Friends offers an eatery. There is also a gift shop located within the premise of the aquarium. The VIP room at the back-end allows you to organize several private events such as marriage ceremonies and conventions. The room is decorated with an acrylic see through glass piano.
