Miami Seaquarium

Miami Seaquarium is an aquarium situated at the city of Miami in Florida of the United States of America. It is located on Virginia Key in Biscayne Bay. This was the first major marine park of South Florida and was founded by Captain W.B. Gray and Fred D. Coppock. The aquarium made a grand opening in the year 1955. Miami Seaquarium covers an area of 35 acre and you will need at least 3 hours to tour it.

Miami Seaquarium houses several marine mammals. In addition to these, it also keeps creatures such as sharks, sea turtles, reptiles, birds and manatees. It organizes several popular shows. At the Killer Whale and Dolphin Show, you will be amazed by Lolita, the killer whale. The visitors watch Lolita and her trainer to perform "walk on water". The dolphins will impress you by their intelligence, natural grace and beauty. In the Flipper Dolphin Show, Flipper and his Atlantic dolphin perform in the lagoon. You will get to see well choreographed performances, which include spins, jumps, flips and tail walks. It will also offer you ample information.
The Tropical Reef Presentation is a favorite show among the park visitors. It features a 750,000-gallon saltwater aquarium with reef fishes of different color, size and description. A specialist dives into the water and feeds the fishes, turtles and eels as the visitors watch on. An environmental narration also accompanies the show. One of the most popular shows of this marine park is the Shark Channel Presentation. It was a primary attraction to the tourists, when Miami Seaquarium first opened in the year 1955. In this show, the animal care specialist explains various kinds of sharks that are available worldwide and at the same time feed these fearsome creatures.

Make sure that you attend the Discovery Bay Presentation.
It allows the visitors to view Florida birds, fishes, sea turtles, alligators and other creatures in a natural forest environment. Other prominent shows of Miami Seaquarium are Golden Dome Sea Lion Show, Top Deck Dolphin Show, Sea Lion Feeder Pool, Manatee Presentation etc.

When you feel hungry, satisfy your taste buds with different tasty meals. There are several on-site food services. You can choose from pizzas, hotdogs, ice creams, cold drinks, burgers, wraps, French fries, sausages, grilled sandwiches and much more.

Miami Seaquarium is open on all days from 9.30 am to 6 pm. However, make sure that you reach before 4 pm because the ticket counter closes at that time. Children below 3 years are offered free admission. Online ticketing option is also available. Parking facility is available. It is a place of fun and education.
