Universeum, located in Gothenburg, is a renowned public science center of Sweden. This popular tourist location attracts more than half a million tourists every year. It was in the year 2001 that this venue was inaugurated. Jan Westin, one of the prime trustees of Universeum is the founder of this place.

This Swedish tourist destination is a non-profit public aquarium. It consists of 3 million liters of water, an excellent science center and South American rainforest. Broadly speaking, this spectacular place is divided into six sections, namely Explora, Regnskogen, Kalejdo, Galleriet, Akvariehallen and Vattnets vag. All these sections display diverse exhibitions, starting from robots to marine animals and human bodies to natural environment.

Apart from the living exhibits, the other attraction of Universeum is the model of the living rainforest. The nature and technology is very well blended, giving this science aquarium a unique look. Universeum is one of the most rare tourist attractions in the world, where one can find man, technology, nature, arts as well as society, under the same roof. Within the premises, one would also find the National Scientific Advisory Council, which regulates the scientific approach of this place.Some special school programmes are also conducted by Universeum, Sweden. Their informal style of teaching brings out the best from the children, educators as well as the evaluators. The main motive behind these programmes is to provide the children a better view towards the environment, they are living in.
